Behind the Brand Refresh: Creating Visuals for LoDo Massage Studio
When the team at LoDo Massage Studio reached out to me, they had a clear goal: refresh their visual brand with intention and alignment—a cohesive set of marketing assets that would elevate their presence both online and across their multiple Denver locations.
This wasn’t just about creating a single video or a few brand photos. It was about building a full visual identity system that felt credible, warm, grounded, and true to who they are. And I was thrilled to help bring that to life.
The Vision
LoDo Massage offers something really special: a high-quality, no-frills massage experience, rooted in professionalism and integrity. Their focus is on healing, bodywork, and creating a calming environment, without the gimmicks or luxury up-charges you sometimes see in the wellness industry.
From the very first planning call, it was clear they deeply cared about their brand and wanted their visuals to reflect their values: not overly polished, not flashy, but calm, clean, warm, and professional.

The Process
Before I ever picked up a camera, we spent several calls discussing:
The structure and tone of the promo video
Which massage modalities do we want to highlight
How to incorporate their color palette and branding elements subtly
Who would appear in the shoot — a mix of real massage therapists and a few additional models
What kinds of shots could they use across platforms: their website, Instagram, paid ads, and more
This pre-production phase is something I always emphasize with my clients. Strong visuals are built through strategy, collaboration, and thoughtful planning beforehand.
The Shoot Day
We spent about five hours onsite at their downtown studio, and it was such a joyful, smooth shoot. The LoDo team was fully engaged, well-prepared, and truly excited about the process — which always makes a difference.
Together, we worked with:
3 massage therapists from their staff
2 additional models to represent a range of clients
3 massage rooms with different aesthetics and purposes
Their shared common areas, where we highlighted the cozy, welcoming vibe
Their products and tools, keeping everything rooted in authenticity
I directed every scene, helped position hands, bodies, and props, and guided everyone to make sure they felt confident, comfortable, and natural in front of the camera.
What we captured was a blend of real interaction, intentional storytelling, and a strong sense of place. From warm lighting to close-up shots of technique, from establishing wide shots of the space to subtle branding details — every clip was carefully designed to tell the story of Lodo Massage Studio.
The Outcome
From this one shoot, we created:
A full-length promotional video for their website
A 20-second social media ad designed for Reels
A complete set of brand photography that they can use across their platforms
